From Nicaraguan Roots to Sparkling Dreams: The Story Behind Share The Blossom

Hi there! My name is Alexandra, and I’m a 41-year-old proud Latina of Nicaraguan descent with a passion for creating and connecting. Today, I’m excited to introduce you to Share The Blossom —a jewelry business I’ve started alongside two incredible friends. This isn’t just another jewelry line; it’s a labor of love, faith, and purpose that has been shaped by every twist and turn in my journey.
Finding Inspiration in My Roots
Growing up in a Catholic household, I was taught the importance of giving and serving others. This sense of purpose has been embedded in me for as long as I can remember. My grandparents on my father’s side were two of the most creative and resourceful people I’ve ever known. My grandfather could turn random household trinkets—like toothpaste caps—into something beautiful and functional. He would always say, “Don’t throw that away; you never know when it might become something else.” My grandmother was just as crafty, sewing my wedding dress, creating intricate felt dolls, and even dabbling in papier-mâché. Watching them find beauty in the “nothings” taught me to see the world through a creative lens.
Venturing Into Jewelry
After running successful businesses selling creative paper goods, plants, and handbags, I never imagined stepping into the world of artisanal jewelry. So what changed? Two things: my co-founder, Paulina, and my faith. Paulina, with her visionary mind and fiery Latina spirit, has always been a force to be reckoned with. I’ve worked alongside her before and seen her turn ideas into magic. When she approached me with this idea, I knew it was something special.
At the same time, I had just moved back to Austin with my family in June 2024. Leaving behind my successful business in Miami was bittersweet, but it felt like God was calling me to embark on a new journey—one that wasn’t about me, but about serving a greater purpose. Joining Paulina and our other partner in this venture felt right, even if it was a little nerve-wracking. Truth be told, stepping into this new niche is still a bit intimidating, but I’m trusting the process (and Him) every step of the way.
Lessons Learned Along the Way
From selling paper goods to handbags, one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that being shy or reserved gets you nowhere. Building connections with customers and fellow business owners makes all the difference. Trying new things, even when you’re uncertain, is the only way to grow—and the rest? That’s up to God.
Of course, it’s not all smooth sailing. Social media has always been a challenge for me. Just when you think you’ve cracked the code, the algorithms change! But despite the frustration, it’s amazing to see how you can build a community and form genuine connections through these platforms.
The Heart of Share The Blossom
Our jewelry isn’t just about accessorizing—it’s about creating pieces that inspire empathy, resilience, and hope. Many of our designs feature semi-precious gemstones and themes that reflect our values, beliefs, and intention to do good. Each piece is a reminder that even during life’s toughest storms, we can blossom again.
What sets us apart is the purpose behind our work. We’re not just another ethical jewelry brand. We hope our designs help others find their purpose, even as they navigate their own struggles. It’s about more than beauty; it’s about transformation.
Balancing Life and Business
Let’s be real: juggling life as an entrepreneur, mom, and wife isn’t easy. My days start with a little grace—I carve out time for myself after morning drop-off before diving into work. Afternoons are reserved for my kids and family, and I’ve learned that sticking to a routine helps keep the chaos at bay. It’s not always perfect, but finding balance is key to being productive and fair to myself and those I love.
Connecting Through Culture
As a bilingual, bicultural Latina, I love connecting with people from all walks of life. My fiery spirit makes it easy for me to strike up conversations and spread awareness about what we do. Whether it’s in Spanish, English, or a little mix of both, I’m always ready to share our story.
Looking Ahead
My dream for Share The Blossom is to create a ripple effect of kindness and purpose. I hope our jewelry resonates with people, not just as beautiful pieces, but as reminders of resilience and empathy. Through this venture, we also aim to give back, partnering with charitable initiatives to support those in need. It’s about leaving the world a little better than we found it.
A Journey Worth Sharing
Starting this business has been both challenging and rewarding. Writing blog posts and newsletters might not come naturally to me (hello, hot mess express with a sprinkle of Spanglish!), but I’m learning as I go. And for those of you who know me, you’ll get me—whether it’s in person or on paper.
So here’s to this new chapter, to sharing our journey, and to blossoming together. Thank you for being part of this adventure. Let’s make magic happen!
Con cariño,
Alexandra Ramirez
