The Journey I’m On through Share the Blossom

The Journey I’m On through Share the Blossom

I remember perfectly the day I received Paulina’s call. It was a weekend morning, with two small children at home and my husband cooking; it was hard for me to understand what she was telling me. She had decided to sell her company and brand (in which I occasionally made small collabs); the one she had dedicated seven years to and is currently a successful business. I remember asking her several times if she was sure, but the decision was already made.

She began explaining her new idea to me and asking for my opinion. I thought she was crazy to venture out like that, to start over. I hadn’t had a formal job in the last 12 years, but… this project won me over.

I truly consider myself a lucky person in this life. My family is complete with two smart and healthy children, a husband who teams up with me daily, and financial stability. I felt that somehow I was being given the opportunity to give back and make a difference. Share the Blossom’s main purpose is not economic. The soul of this brand is to generate change, to raise awareness, and awaken our empathy. And now, through my jewelry designs, I could make this possible, while also not missing any moments with my family.

How do I feel? Just like any other entrepreneur, I feel fear, but I am also very excited because I believe I’m embarking on a journey full of learning opportunities. Every day, I feel nervous because being in charge of the creative part gives the word “responsibility” a whole new meaning. The word “commitment” also takes on new significance, reflecting how I feel towards this great community we are building and the organizations that have joined us.

It’s a journey full of magic and challenges. Personally, my main challenge has been finding a work-life balance. Professionally, it's about designing pieces that mean something—pieces that serve two purposes when you buy them. You’re getting a quality piece you can identify with because, let’s be honest, we’ve all been through rough patches in life. At the same time, you know you’re helping someone going through a difficult time. We still have a long way to go, but I find so much heart in this project, in my colleagues and our suppliers, and in the stories behind every person that purchases or receives one of our pieces. This keeps me motivated, knowing we’re on the right track.

If you’re considering embarking on a similar journey, do it. Even if you’re scared, just go for it. It is incredibly rewarding, and it can only add to your life. Thank you for joining us and giving us the opportunity to make a change through this project.

Don't forget, sometimes the firmest steps are taken with trembling legs.

With LOVE, Mara
